Position Definition: The person filling this position will provide direct treatment focused on helping students respond to their environment in a practical and productive manner. Emphasis will be on current needs, functions, and support systems related to mental health.

Relationship: The Mental Health Worker reports directly to the Supervisor of Behavioral Health Services.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

• Minimum of an Associate's Degree with at least five (5) years of related work experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred, with at least one (1) year experience working with children with serious emotional disturbances.
• Degree in a recognized related mental health clinical discipline is preferred.

Skills/Knowledge:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
• Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to comply with PA IEP process and prioritize tasks.
• Work independently, make professional decisions, and demonstrate lifelong learning.
• Proficient in technology for communication and service delivery.
• Provide high-quality customer service with patience and knowledge.
• Regular attendance at work as scheduled.
• Knowledge of related programs and services, such as surrogate parenting and healthcare options.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, bend, sit, lift, reach, communicate effectively, and perform physical safety protocols.
• Ability to ambulate independently and travel to work locations.
• Manual dexterity and ability to demonstrate multi-step physical skills.

Authority:

The Mental Health Worker has authority to perform all functions in accordance with policies and procedures.

Functions/Duties/Responsibilities:
