Job summary

Havenwyck Hospital, a Havenwyck UHS facility in Auburn Hills, MI, seeks a dedicated Utilization Management Case Manager to organize and conduct the manager care process and collaborate with external payers and internal teams.

The role involves ensuring medical necessity and level of care planning, reviewing treatment against approved criteria, and aiding discharge planning while liaising with the medical team and outside agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in social work, psychology, counseling or nursing required.
• Master's degree in social work, psychology, or counseling preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years of post-graduate related psychiatric or substance abuse treatment experience required.
• Familiarity with utilization management processes and discharge planning is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reports to external payers on medical management, LOS, and care options within benefits/resources.
• Communicates with Treatment Team to advocate patient care within benefits/resources.
• Ensures completeness/accuracy of medical records with clinical skills.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
