Job summary

Westchester Medical Center invites applications for a Managed Care Coordinator to support behavioral health inpatient services by implementing or investigating Utilization Review and Discharge Planning procedures.

The role monitors length of stay and resource use, evaluates hospital incidents, and helps develop procedures to improve patient care while contributing to quality improvement to uphold accreditation and reimbursement standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3-5 years experience in Acute Behavioral Health clinical specialty.
• Three years of nursing experience in a hospital/health care setting with at least one year in a leadership role; plus one year in utilization review, quality assurance, risk management or discharge planning.
• Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing preferred; 30 credits may substitute for one year of general nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Support behavioral health inpatient programs by implementing or investigating Utilization Review and Discharge Planning procedures.
• Monitor length of stay and resource consumption of patients; evaluate and report on hospital incidents.
• Assist in developing procedures to improve patient care and participate in quality improvement to meet accrediting, licensing and reimbursement standards.
