Job summary

Metropolitan Health (a UHS Facility) is seeking an experienced Utilization Management Case Manager- Per Diem (Hybrid) to support admissions, stay reviews, and treatment planning. You will collaborate with the treatment team and external payers to optimize care and resource use.

The role requires a Bachelor's or Master's in social work, counseling or nursing, with relevant licensure; two years of psychiatric care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling or nursing.
• Master's degree in social work, counseling or related health sciences is highly desirable.
• Unrestricted license (LBSW, RN, LMSW, LPC, etc.).
• Two years of related psychiatric care experience.

Responsibilities

• Organize and conduct the managed care process for admissions and ongoing stays.
• Review records with external payers to determine medical necessity and level of care.
• Verify active treatment through internal audits and assist discharge planning.
• Liaise with the medical/clinical treatment team and external agencies.
• Report authorizations, denials, and documentation concerns to minimize denials.
