Job summary

McDowell Center for Children is seeking a dynamic Mental Health Tech/Transportator to coordinate, control, and document all movement and services of the adolescent in their care during transport. The role emphasizes safety and clear handoffs between shifts to ensure continuous care.

The position requires a High School Diploma, up to one year of relevant experience with psychiatric residents, and a valid Tennessee driver license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• One-year experience working with a psychiatric resident population preferred.
• Valid Tennessee driver license.
• Knowledge of psychiatric group processes, therapeutic relationships processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting and behavior management, crisis management with aggressive behaviors, and CPR training.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, control, and document all movement, activity, and services of the adolescent in their care while transportation.
• Maintain the safety and security of the environment while on duty.
• Effectively communicate with the next shift regarding the status of all.
• Supports 24-hour care in a residential setting, interacting with licensed therapists, nurses, and technicians.
