Job summary

Southeast Behavioral Hospital in Missouri is seeking a Mental Health Technician to support patient transport and provide direct care in a psychiatric setting. You will help maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and participate in group activities with diverse patient populations.

The role requires a high school diploma, a valid Class E license (preferred), and prior driving experience with MH settings valued.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Class E Driver's License preferred or obtained within designated time frame upon hire.
• One year driving a van-type vehicle preferred; six months in a mental health setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in driving and transporting patients home.
• When not transporting patients, perform Mental Health Technician responsibilities.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment; provide routine patient care in a psychiatric setting.
• Document and communicate unusual or erratic changes in client behaviors.
• Assist with patient groups and activities; work with diverse populations to meet needs.
• Provide trauma-informed and age-specific care; maintain therapeutic boundaries and crisis intervention as needed.
