Job summary

Stars Behavioral Health Group in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Mental Health Specialist II for a 16-bed crisis residential unit. You will assess clients at intake, develop treatment plans, and assist with discharge planning under Clinical Supervisor oversight.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in psychology or social work required.
• CA Driver's License with eligible driving record.
• First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Active or eligible BBS registration/licensure.

Responsibilities

• Assess clients at intake and as needed throughout treatment.
• Develop and maintain individualized treatment plans.
• Conduct discharge planning and family collateral work.
• Participate in admission and diagnostic formulation.
• Coordinate with Social Workers, Nurses, and hospital liaisons.

The MHS II is a clinical treatment team member who is also responsible for providing direct care to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of the clients through direct and indirect physical and verbal interaction. MHS II will also be engaged in admission and diagnostic formulation, screening incoming referrals, and work with referring parties (i.e. Social Workers, Nurses, hospital liaisons and etc.) to ensure appropriate client care and treatment planning.
