Job summary

SUN Behavioral Health is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to provide direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. You will monitor patients, take vital signs, document in the EHR, support safety and de-escalation, assist with activities of daily living, and participate in treatment teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; CPR and CPI de-escalation certification expected.
• Preferred CNA certification and some college coursework.
• One year of healthcare experience preferred; CP R certification and de-escalation training are valued.
• Experience with EHR systems and medication/documentation workflows.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care under RN or LPN/LVN supervision.
• Record vital signs, intake/output, and document in the EHR.
• Observe patients for changes in behavior or mental status and report to RN.
• Escort patients for meals, visits, tests, and activities; ensure safety.
• Assist with restraints or seclusion under RN direction and CPI guidelines.
• Participate in treatment team meetings and patient education groups.
• Maintain patient safety and confidentiality; follow HIPAA and hospital policies.
