Ridgeview Institute Smyrna in Smyrna, GA is seeking a Mental Health Technician (MHT) to join the treatment team. The role involves patient care, supervision, and role modeling for diverse ages under RN direction.

Responsibilities include vital signs, documenting treatment responses, assisting with activities of daily living, and crisis intervention when required. A $500 sign-on bonus is offered; full-time salary range is $15–$17 per hour.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; CNA preferred; Degree in social work, recreational therapy or related therapeutic discipline.
• One year of related psychiatric patient care experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license in the applicable state.
• CPR/First Aid and CPI training within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Take and record vital signs accurately.
• Observe and document changes in a patient's condition and progress toward treatment goals.
• Communicate changes in the patient's condition to the charge nurse.
• Document treatment plans and nursing interventions and patient responses.
• Provide assistive care with activities of daily living; advocate for patient rights.
• Apply crisis intervention techniques as needed.

***SIGN-ON BONUS FOR PART-TIME POSITIONS: $500.00JOIN OUR TEAM AS A MENTAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN (MHT)!Your Work Matters How will you make a difference?The Mental Health Technician (MHT) functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients ranging in age from preschool through geriatrics, depending on which unit works. MHTs work under the direction of a Registered Nurse.Duties and responsibilities:Take and record vital signs properly.Utilize sound judgment during assessment and observe and document any changes in a patient's appearance, behavior, or ability to work toward treatment plan goals.Communicate changes in the patient's condition to the charge nurse.Follow the therapeutic interventions outlined by the treatment team for each patient.Document the treatment plan, nursing interventions, and the patient's response to the intervention.Employ appropriate crisis intervention techniques as neededAssist patients with personal hygiene and activities of daily living.Act as the patient's advocate and ensure that the patient's rights are upheld.Note: The essential job functions of this position are not limited to the duties listed above.Your Experience Matters What we’re looking for:Education: High School Degree or equivalent preferred; or Certified Nursing Assistant preferred;Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy or appropriate therapeutic discipline.Experience: One year of related experience, with a knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and understanding of mental illness, preferred.Licensure: Must maintain a valid driver's license in the applicable state.Additional Requirements: Successful completion CPR/ First Aid certification and CPI training to within 90 days of employment prior to assisting with restraining procedures.
