Ridgeview Institute - Smyrna is seeking a Mental Health Technician (MHT) to join our treatment team. You will provide continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients across ages, under the direction of a Registered Nurse. This is a full-time, non-exempt role with a $1,500 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; CNA preferred; or degree in social work or a therapeutic discipline.
• One year of related psychiatric patient care experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Take and record vital signs correctly.
• Observe and document changes in patient condition and progress toward goals.
• Communicate changes to the charge nurse.
• Follow treatment interventions outlined by the team.
• Document the treatment plan and patient responses.
• Employ crisis intervention techniques as needed.
• Assist patients with personal hygiene and daily living activities.
• Advocate for patients and uphold their rights.

JOIN OUR TEAM AS A MENTAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN!

• SIGN-ON BONUS FOR FULL-TIME POSITIONS: $1,500.00

Your Work Matters How will you make a difference?

The Mental Health Technician (MHT) functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients ranging in age from preschool through geriatrics, depending on which unit works. MHTs work under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Take and record vital signs correctly.
• Utilize sound judgment during assessment and observe and document changes in a patient's appearance, behavior, or ability to work toward treatment plan goals.
• Communicate changes in the patient's condition to the charge nurse.
• Follow the therapeutic interventions outlined by the treatment team for each patient.
• Document the treatment plan, nursing interventions, and the patient's response to the intervention.
• Employ appropriate crisis intervention techniques as needed
• Assist patients with personal hygiene and activities of daily living.
• Act as the patient's advocate and ensure that the patient's rights are upheld.

Your Experience Matters What We’re Looking For

Education: High School Degree or equivalent preferred; or Certified Nursing Assistant preferred; Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy or appropriate therapeutic discipline.

Experience: One year of related experience, with a knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and an understanding of mental illness, preferred.

Licensure: Must maintain a valid driver's license in the applicable state.

Additional Requirements: Successful completion CPR/ First Aid certification and CPI training to within 90 days of employment prior to assisting with restraining procedures. May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.

Compensation

This is a Full-Time, non-exempt role, and the expected compensation range is between $15.00 and $17.00/hour, plus a sign-on bonus of $1,500.00.
