Job summary

Ridgeview Institute Smyrna is seeking a Mental Health Technician (MHT) - Intake to receive, schedule, and refer inquiry calls, and assist with coordinating assessments and intake paperwork. This role helps ensure a smooth admission transition and supports patient safety throughout the intake process.

  • Education: A BA in mental health or significant related work experience is preferred. Graduates from an accredited RN program are also preferred.
  • Experience: 1 year of experience in the intake or admissions process.
  • Skills: Operate a multi-function telephone set, input data into computer programs, maintain logs and records, coordinate and schedule assessments, operate photocopier and FAX, interact with internal and external clients, learn technology quickly, strong written and verbal communication, proactive and detail oriented, prioritize tasks in high-pressure environments, work independently or in teams, communicate across departments.

  • Coordinate admissions process and ensure patient safety during transition into admission.
  • Assist Assessment & Referral Clinicians, Coordinators, and Directors with intake coordination.

Your Work Matters How will you make a difference?

The Intake Technician is responsible for receiving, scheduling, and/or referring inquiry calls. The technician also assists the Assessment & Referral Clinicians, Coordinators, and Directors with coordinating assessments and initiating intake paperwork and insurance information. The technician works to ensure a smooth transition into the admission process and assists in monitoring to ensure the patient's safety.

Your Experience Matters What we’re looking for:
  • Education: A BA in mental health or significant related work experience is preferred. Graduates from an accredited RN program are also preferred.
  • Experience: 1 year of experience in the intake or admissions process.
  • Skills:
    • Operate a multi-function telephone set
    • Operate computer terminal; input data into computer programs
    • Maintain filing systems; maintain logs and records
    • Coordinate and schedule assessments; operate photocopier; operate FAX machine
    • Ability to interact with internal and external clients
    • Flexible and adaptable to learning and understanding technology
    • Highly analytical and detail-oriented with the ability to demonstrate command of details and to articulate those details at a higher level.
    • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
    • Highly self-motivated, directed, and proactive
    • Keen attention to detail
    • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
    • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
    • Able to communicate effectively within the department and with members of interdisciplinary teams
    • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Additional Requirements: Successful completion CPR/ First Aid certification and CPI training within 90 days of employment before assisting with restraining procedures. May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.

Compensation:
