Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking a Mental Health Technician to join the Winter Haven Hospital Behavioral Health team in Winter Haven, Florida. This pool, hourly role supports direct patient care for psychiatric inpatients under RN supervision, with evenings shifts 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM.

Responsibilities include monitoring patient safety, fostering therapeutic communication, and assisting with basic physical care under RN direction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification required.
• Florida driver's license required.
• Preferred: Associate degree in Healthcare/Psychology.
• Preferred: CNA or PCT certification.

• Monitors and observes patients to ensure safety and wellbeing.
• Promotes communication and therapeutic relationships with patients.

Mental Health Technician Prime Pool Position Details

• Facility: Winter Haven Hospital Behavioral Health
• Location: Winter Haven , FL
• Status: Pool, Hourly
• Shift Hours: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
• Weekend Work: Every Other
• On Call: No

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to psychiatric inpatients under the direct Supervision of a Registered Nurse
• Provides ongoing monitoring and observation of patients to ensure safety and wellbeing.
• Promotes communication and therapeutic relationships with patients.
• Assists with physical care under the direction of an RN.

Requirements

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• High School or Equivalent
• FL Driver's License
• Preferred
• Associate's in Healthcare/Psychology
• Preferred
• CNA/PCT

Experience:

• 6 months - Psychology based experience
