Job summary

Adventist Health Vallejo is seeking a patient-focused CNA to provide direct and indirect care under RN supervision in a per diem Psychiatric ICU setting. You will assist with ADLs, participate in therapeutic activities, and support patient and family education while ensuring safety and comfort.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, CNA certification (preferred), and prior behavioral health experience. BLS is required; NCI and related certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
• Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
• Two years' experience in a behavioral healthcare setting: Preferred

Responsibilities

• Implements psychosocial interventions and assists with ADLs such as bathing, dressing, hygiene, ambulation and transfers.
• Conducts therapeutic interventions and facilitates groups, communicates patient behaviors to RN.
• Performs data collection and participates with RN in planning care and interventions.
• Supports patient and family through empathetic interaction/education within scope of practice.
• Assists nursing staff with clerical duties and chart preparation on admission.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
