Job summary

Canyon Creek Behavioral Health, part of the Universal Health Services family, seeks a Mental Health Technician to join the inpatient treatment team in Temple, Texas. You will provide continuous patient care, supervision, and role modeling under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities include following treatment interventions, noting changes in patients, and promptly communicating with the charge nurse to support care plans. Weekend and evening shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. CNA preferred. Degree in social work, recreational therapy, or related therapeutic discipline desirable.
• Experience: 1 year of related experience in psychiatric patient care preferred.
• Additional Requirements: Handle with Care Training, Service Excellence Training, CPR certification; weekend/overtime flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Follow treatment team interventions for each patient.
• Monitor and document changes in patient appearance, behavior, or progress.
• Communicate patient condition changes to charge nurse.
