Job summary

Canyon Creek Behavioral Health in Temple, Texas, is seeking a Mental Health Technician - PRN to join the treatment team. You will provide continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients across ages from adolescents to geriatrics, under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

The role emphasizes following treatment plans, observing changes, and communicating updates to the charge nurse; prior psychiatric care experience and CPR training are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred: Certified Nursing Assistant.
• Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy, or appropriate therapeutic discipline highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Follow the therapeutic interventions outlined by the treatment team for each patient.
• Utilize sound judgment during assessment and observe and document changes in a patient’s appearance, behavior, or progress toward treatment goals.
• Communicate changes in patient’s condition to the charge nurse.
