Mental Health Technician Opportunity -

River Park Hospital operates a total of 187 mental health beds located on 2 campuses. Our main hospital campus is a 165-bed licensed mental health facility serving the needs of patients of all ages. Our second campus is Barboursville School housing a 22-bed PRTF licensed facility located on 8 acres in the center of beautiful Barboursville Park. Our mission is to assist patients in returning to their lives with the highest level of mental health. We offer a full spectrum of programs , which include acute inpatient services for older children, adolescents , adults and older adults , along with a variety of psychiatric residential programs for both children and adolescents.

The Mental Health Technician is a vital part of River Park Hospital's treatment team. This is a full time, 40 hour per week, position with an opportunity to work on the evening (3pm - 11:30pm), or overnight (11pm - 7:30am) shift. Our full time positions require employees to work every other weekend and there is a competitive shift differential for the evening, night, and weekend shifts.

  • Provide routine patient care as required in a psychiatric environment
  • Document and communicate unusual or erratic changes in client behaviors
  • Assist with patient groups and activities
  • Work with culturally and generationally diverse populations to meet their individual needs
  • Provide trauma informed and age-specific care
  • Maintain therapeutic boundaries and utilize crisis intervention techniques
