Job summary

Lasting Hope Recovery Center is seeking a Mental Health Tech to support Behavioral Health's front and back office, assisting psychiatrists, patients, and the care management team. You will help with medication management, vital signs, and EHR documentation.

Responsibilities include front desk operations, patient registration, insurance processing, and coordination of refill requests, injections, and timely record-keeping, while maintaining confidentiality and high-quality customer service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and at least 1 year of experience in mental health.
• Basic Life Support - CPR and First Aid within required timeframe.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Human Services and psychiatric assistant training.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients through a trauma informed care atmosphere in the development of individuality and appropriate methods of self-expression through promoting an environment in which the patient can problem-solve and test out new behaviors.
• Assists the patients in acknowledging and accepting responsibility for psychological and behavioral patterns through providing feedback and positive reinforcement, consistently applying program rights and regulations, behavior modification program and communicating in an appropriate manner with the patients.
• Provides appropriate emergency care and maintains a safe environment. Maintains a secure environment and acts as a resource for emergency situations. Performs basic nursing tasks (i.e. but not limited to: vital signs, blood pressure, specimen collection, accu checks, weighing and assisting with ADL). Assists the nurse in carrying out orders that are within the scope of practice.
• Provides trauma informed care and supervision to patients needing physical restraints or seclusion.
• Assists the patient in dealing with relationship difficulties, supports and teaches appropriate socializations skills. Facilitates Its various supportive, classroom educational (where appropriate) and psych-educational activities.
• Communicates effectively utilizing both verbal and writing methods within a diverse and multicultural environment. Maintains appropriate communication networks and harmonious working relationships with members of the interdisciplinary team and other departments, through participating in staff meetings, quality assurance activities, safety, security and infection control programs, program development and implementation and all additional training assigned by leadership.
