BayCare Health System is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Technician for St Joseph's Behavior Health Center in Tampa, FL. This full-time position requires evening shifts and offers comprehensive benefits.

The role focuses on direct patient care, safety, and therapeutic communication under RN supervision. Ideal candidates have a High School diploma, with preferred credentials such as an Associate or Bachelor’s in related fields, and prior psychology-related experience.

BayCare Health Systems is currently seeking a Mental Health Technician Department to join our outstanding and compassionate team at St Joseph's Behavior Health Center!

Mental Health Technician Position Details:

• Facility: St Joseph's Behavior Health Center
• Location: Tampa, FL
• Status: Full time, Hourly
• Shift Hours: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
• Weekend Work: Every Other
• On Call: No

Mental Health Technician Responsibilities:

• Provides direct patient care to psychiatric inpatients under the direct Supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Provides ongoing monitoring and observation of patients to ensure safety and wellbeing.
• Promotes communication and therapeutic relationships with patients.

Required Certification/Licensures:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• CNA (Nursing Assistant) - preferred
• Patient Care Technician - preferred

Required Education:

• High School or Equivalent
• Associate's degree in related field - Preferred
• Bachelor's degree in related field- Preferred

Required Experience:

• 6 months – Psychology or Bachelor's degree in related field
