Job summary

Havenwyck Hospital, a UHS facility, is seeking a Mental Health Technician for full-time day shifts (7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m., 36 hours/week) with every-other-weekend requirements. The role supports admissions, discharges, transfers and daily living activities while maintaining safety and a therapeutic environment.

Under RN supervision, you will monitor patients for cues of aggression, report changes, and assist in de-escalation, ensuring compassionate, patient-centered care for all ages served.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Prefer a minimum of two years of college in areas of psychology, social work, mental health, and other related health fields.
• Experience in dealing with the emotionally disturbed preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine patient care under supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Assists with admissions, discharges and transfers; monitors for signs of aggression and de-escalates when needed.
• Provides care with attention to safety, rights, comfort and a therapeutic environment.
