Job summary

Regions Hospital, part of HealthPartners, seeks Mental Health Technicians to support a collaborative care team providing patient care to adults with mental illness. Responsibilities include ADLs, crisis support, restraint monitoring, vital signs, and documenting care in the EHR.

The role requires CPR/BLS certification and a post-secondary education in behavioral sciences (or related experience). Work schedule is 20–36 hours per week with weekend/holiday coverage.

Qualifications

• Completion of a post-secondary education program in behavioral sciences OR completion of one year of post-secondary education in behavioral sciences or health care field OR has at least 1 year of supervised experience in the delivery of services to persons with mental illness OR 1 year of similar related health care experience as applicable.
• Current CPR/BLS certification

Responsibilities

• Performs activities of daily living (ADLs) on a daily basis.
• Provides patient care treatments including restraint monitoring, and collects patient data including vital signs, weights, intake & output.
• Collects routine patient specimens such as urine, stool, and finger stick blood glucose as directed.
• Respond to call lights and requests and assist nurses with procedures as requested.
• Documents and charts care provided in the electronic health record.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
