Job summary

Coastal Harbor Health System, part of Universal Health Services, is seeking a Mental Health Technician to support patients in a multidisciplinary behavioral health setting in Savannah, Georgia. You will provide attentive care, monitor patients, and assist with daily activities under clinical supervision.

Ideal candidates have excellent communication skills, prior behavioral health experience, and the ability to stay calm in crisis situations while promoting patient dignity and independence.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in behavioral health preferred.
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced work environment.
• Experience handling crisis situations with calm and care.

Responsibilities

• Be a steady, supportive presence in patients’ daily lives, guiding meals, activities, and programming.
• Stay one step ahead to keep everyone safe, using awareness and de-escalation techniques.
• Build trust-based relationships through positive communication and active listening.
• Partner with Clinical and Admissions teams to support screenings and assessments.
• Champion patient dignity and independence by supporting daily living needs.
