Job summary

Care New England's Lippitt 2 Adult Inpatient Intensive Treatment Unit is hiring a mental health worker. The role supports registered nurses in direct patient care and ensures a compassionate, therapeutic environment.

Bachelor’s degree in social sciences preferred; experience with mentally ill clients; strong writing and communication skills required. Schedule: 36/72 full-time evenings, every other weekend. CNA preferred with 2% pay differential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or related field; behavioral health experience may substitute.
• Experience working with mentally ill or developmentally delayed clients.
• Excellent written and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist registered nurses in direct patient care, focusing on activities of daily living.
• Act as patient advocate by modeling performance standards and meeting patient needs.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment on the unit through observation and interaction.
• Commit to ongoing self-development related to the mental health worker role.
