Job summary

Care New England Riverview 3 is seeking a Mental Health Worker to advocate for patients, support daily living activities, and assist nurses in direct care on a 20-hour per week night shift. The role emphasizes safety and therapeutic care for adults with behavioral health needs.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in social sciences (or equivalent behavioral health experience) and CNA certification; internal staff must obtain CNA within 6 months if not already certified.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences is preferred and may be substituted for the degree requirement.
• External candidates must have C.N.A certification.
• Internal MHW candidates must have or complete C.N.A certification within 6 months of accepting position.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for patients by modeling performance standards and meeting patients’ service needs.
• Assist registered nurses in direct patient care and activities of daily living.
• Ensure a safe and therapeutic unit environment through observation and interaction.
