Job summary

Care New England is seeking a part-time Mental Health Worker on the Delmonico 3C Unit. The role focuses on supporting nurses in direct patient care and daily living activities, while modeling high standards of service with a patient-first approach.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in social sciences or comparable experience, possess excellent written and communication skills, and be eligible for a CNA license with the stated differential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in any of the social sciences preferred.
• Experience in working with mentally ill and/or developmentally delayed clients.
• Candidate must have excellent written skills.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Consistently adheres to Butler Hospital service standards.
• Provides role as patient advocate through role modeling and by meeting patients' needs for service.
• Assists registered nurses in direct care of patients, specifically patients’ activities of daily living.
• Insures a safe and therapeutic environment on the unit through observation, interaction and group activities.
• Commits to self-development as it pertains to the role of mental health worker.
