Job summary

Management & Training Corporation in Littlefield, Texas, is seeking a Mental Health Registered Nurse to join the medical team in a secure treatment setting. You will partner with an interdisciplinary team to provide skilled nursing care, support treatment planning, and help improve mental health outcomes.

The role requires an RN license valid in Texas (or a compact state), CPR certification, and the ability to work within state nursing scope. On-call duties and adherence to policies are included.

Qualifications

• Must possess a nursing degree and an active RN license in Texas or a compact state.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Must work within Texas state board of nursing scope of practice.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments.
• Develop and revise individual nursing care plans with the care team.
• Read, understand and implement psychiatrist orders.
• Coordinate communication with psychiatrists for medication and treatment orders.
• Administer medications per policies and document accordingly.
• Educate patients on medication benefits and side effects; monitor psychiatric meds.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records and monitor patient status.
