Management & Training Corporation is hiring a Mental Health Registered Nurse at the Texas Civil Commitment Center in Littlefield, TX. You will work with an interdisciplinary team to provide skilled nursing care within a secure treatment setting and support treatment planning.

The position offers a full-time schedule, with a $40/hour rate and a $5,000 hiring bonus. Candidates must hold a Texas RN license (or compact state), CPR, and a valid driver’s license as required by state law.

• RN degree or equivalent nursing license required.
• Current Texas RN license or compact state license required.
• CPR certification required.

Responsabilités

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop nursing care plans with the care team.
• Read, understand and implement psychiatrist orders.
• Coordinate communication with psychiatry for medications and orders; respond to emergencies.
• Provide crisis intervention and manage acute patient disturbances.
• Administer medications and document treatments per policy.
• Educate patients on psychotropic medications and potential side effects.
• Document patient status and responses in the EMR.

Join the Medical team at the Texas Civil Commitment Center (TCCC) in Littlefield, Texas, where compassionate, clinically strong professionals support residents in a secure treatment setting. As a Mental Health Registered Nurse, you’ll partner with an interdisciplinary care team to provide skilled nursing care, support treatment planning, and help make a difference every day.

Pay:

$40 per hour + $5,000 Hiring Bonus

Work schedule:

Full-time, Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm

Position Summary:

Performs nursing duties in the mental health unit to prevent illness and promote of good mental health in compliance with MTC Medical and customer directives.

Essential Functions

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments including psychosocial evaluation. Develop individual nursing care plans and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for patient care, revising plans as necessary.
• Read, understand and implement psychiatrist’s orders
• Facilitate communication with psychiatrist for medication and treatment orders, responding to emergencies as required.
• Provide crisis intervention and management for patients experiencing acute disturbances.
• Coordinate scheduling for mental health providers and psychiatrists.
• Assist psychiatrist in patient examinations and treatment procedures
• Administer medication in accordance with policies and procedures, documenting treatments comprehensively.
• Educate individuals with mental illness on medication benefits and potential side effects, particularly psychotropic medications.
• Continuously assess patient conditions, documenting observations related to mental status, physical health, and medication responses in electronic medical record.
• Demonstrate proficiency in providing care for patients with various psychiatric conditions and behaviors, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Apply knowledge of psychiatric disorders in planning nursing care strategies.
• Perform work on an on-call basis, as required.

It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.

Education And Experience Requirements

Degree in nursing, current, valid nursing RN license in the state of Texas or a compact state. Must possess current CPR certification. Must work within Texas state board of nursing scope of practice. Valid driver’s license in the state of with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.

Post Hire Requirements

Upon hire must successfully complete required pre-service and annual training requirements. Must maintain security clearance.
