Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Mental Health/Psychiatric Technician for per diem shifts in York, PA. The role involves caring for patients with psychiatric conditions and substance use disorders, following instructions from physicians and other clinicians.

The technician monitors safety and well-being and reports to medical staff, supporting treatment plans and daily activities as required. Minimum qualifications include education and preferred experience listed above.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate’s degree in behavioral studies or related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
• Minimum of one year relevant experience preferred.
• Current CPR if applicable.
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Care for individuals with psychiatric conditions and varied substance use disorders as directed by physicians, nurses, or other health practitioners.
• Monitor patients’ safety, physical and emotional well-being, and report to medical staff.
• Assist with daily activities and support treatment plans as assigned.

The Behavioral Health Technician cares for individuals withpsychiatric conditions as well as a variety of substance use disorders,following the instructions of physicians, nurses or other health practitioners.The Behavioral Health Technician monitors patients’ safety, physical andemotional well-being and report directly to medical staff.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Associate’s degree in behavioral studies or related field,or equivalent experience preferred (or per facility requirements)
• Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience preferred
• Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
