Job summary

Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections - Corrections Services seeks a Program Consultant – Social Services to support the Mental Health Department inside Louisiana State Penitentiary (Angola). The role coordinates mental health program activities, assists with treatment planning and referrals, and ensures continuity of care for inmates in a secure environment.

The ideal candidate will have six years of related experience or a degree with several years in administrative or health

Qualifications

• Six years of experience in administrative services, public health, social services, or health services; OR
• Six years of full-time experience in any field plus three years of experience in administrative services, public health, social services, or health services; OR
• A bachelor's degree plus three years of experience in administrative services, public health, social services, or health services; OR
• An advanced degree in a social science field, public health, counseling, social work, rehabilitation services, business, public, or health administration, or Juris Doctorate plus two years of experience in administrative services, public health, social services, or health services.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate mental health program activities and case management support.
• Maintain case records and documentation; assist with treatment planning and referrals.
• Prepare reports and monitor program compliance with Mental Health Department.
• Collaborate with mental health professionals, institutional staff, and outside agencies.

Education

Bachelor's degree + 3 years' experience

Advanced degree in a social science, public health, counseling, social work, rehabilitation services, business, public/health administration, or JD with related experience
