GEO Secured Services in Louisiana is seeking a licensed mental health professional to provide evaluation, counseling, and case management within a correctional setting using evidence-based practices.

You will conduct assessments and group sessions, coordinate with security and medical teams, respond to crises, and plan post-release services with community providers to ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a mental health field (Psychology, Counseling, Social Work).
• State licensure as a Clinical Social Worker or Counselor.
• Licensed interns may be considered with an approved supervisor.
• One year of institutional mental health experience preferred.
• Ability to work in crisis situations professionally.
• Strong counseling and motivational skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to prepare clear, concise reports promptly.
• Proficiency with standard computer software used by the department.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mental health interviews, screenings, and evaluations to determine services and plans.
• Provide short-term counseling, group counseling, and specialty groups (anger management, coping skills, end of sentence, life term).
• Provide case management to ensure continuity of services.
• Prepare mental health documentation following state and organizational standards.
• Consult with Security, Medical, Classification and other departments as needed.
• Respond to psychological emergencies and provide crisis interventions.
• Conduct post-release planning and coordinate with community mental health facilities.
