The Louisiana State Penitentiary is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Program Consultant – Social Services within the institution's Mental Health Department. This position plays a vital role in supporting the delivery of mental health services by coordinating programs, assisting with case management activities, and ensuring continuity of care within a correctional environment.
The Program Consultant – Social Services will be responsible for coordinating mental health program activities, maintaining case records and documentation, assisting with treatment planning and referrals, preparing reports, monitoring program compliance, and collaborating with mental health professionals, institutional staff, and outside agencies to ensure effective service delivery.
This position requires strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a structured and secure environment while supporting the Mental Health Department's mission of providing quality behavioural health services to the offender population.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Compensation: The maximum amounts listed are the maximum salary amounts a person can make at each level over their career and NOT the amount we are allowed to pay a new hire.
