Job summary

State of South Carolina’s Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities seeks a Mental Health Professional I to deliver intensive ACT services in the community, promoting recovery and stabilization for adults with mental illness. The role requires LICSW/LMFT/LPC or equivalent SC licensure and a master’s degree in a related field, with experience in a state agency.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a field related to counseling or social sciences.
• Licensed as LISW, LLISW-CP, LMFT or LPC in South Carolina.
• Minimum one year of professional experience with adults with serious mental illness in a SC state agency.
• Clinical experience evidenced by practicum, internship, or post-graduate work.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, recovery-oriented care to ACT beneficiaries and teach coping strategies.
• Engage hard-to-reach beneficiaries using assertive engagement techniques.
• Facilitate person-centered planning and access community services.
• Complete screenings, assessments, and develop instructional continuity plans.
• Deliver family psychoeducation and collaborate with natural supports.
• Participate in supervision, team meetings, and professional development.
• Maintain certifications in evidence-based practices and complete QA/OMH documentation.
