Job summary

The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse Relief/PRN to join our team. The LVN will perform nursing duties under supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician and assist in determining predictable healthcare needs for consumers.

Duties include administering medications, documenting care, and educating patients and families. Ideal candidates have 1 year of licensed nursing experience and knowledge of the Texas Nurse Practice Act.

Qualifications

• LVN certification required in Texas.
• 1 year nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes nursing process to deliver services.
• Performs LVN nursing duties including meds administration and setup of equipment.
• Documents patient information in records and reports.
• Educates patients and families about medications and treatments.
• Ensures safety and confidentiality in all care activities.
• Coordinates with RN/Physician supervision for patient care plans.
