Job summary

The Crawford County Mental Health Center seeks a dedicated support specialist to provide goal-directed, solution-focused interventions for consumers within the crisis stabilization unit. You will assist in assessments, log documentation, transport as needed, and participate in supervision and trainings.

Responsibilities include crisis intervention, administering medications as labeled, maintaining time records, and ensuring compliance with dress code and program policies.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pass pre-employment background checks.
• Pass a TB Screen Test.
• Certification in the State of Kansas to provide this service is required.
• Experience working with behaviorally challenged individuals with mental health needs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow dress code policies of any alternative work locations.
• Assist in assessment of needs assigned consumers.
• Provide support in crisis situation.
• Maintain close monitoring and supervising while client is in pod or YCSU. 30 min documented checks around the clock
• Engage and interact with client to process/reflect on situation, as client is willing
• Administer and log medications as labeled
• Maintain proper documentation of time and services
• Provide transportation as needed
• Attend meetings and supervision as directed by supervisor
• Complete annual trainings
• Complete and maintain proper documentation of time and services within 24 hours
• Maintain current trainings/certifications for position
• Services allowed for this position: Psychosocial Rehabilitation – Individual H2017, Group H2017 TJ; Crisis Intervention – Basic (Attendant) H2011, Intermediate (Bachelor) H2011 HK; Attendant Care – T1019 HE
