Job summary

CoreCivic in Arizona is seeking a Mental Health Coordinator to plan and provide non-medical clinical mental health services in the facility.

The role requires a Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field, plus at least five years of clinical experience including two years in a similar position, and an active license (LPC, LCSW, or LMFT). A valid driver’s license is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling or related clinical area.
  • Five years of clinical experience including two years in a comparable job position.
  • Certification or licensing in the state where practice occurs (e.g., LPC, LCSW, or LMFT).
  • Valid driver's license preferred unless required by contract or applicable statute.
  • Minimum age requirement: at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct mental health screenings and assessments based on records review and inmate interviews.
  • Develop, implement and modify individual treatment plans based on needs and functioning.
  • Document treatment and evaluation activities in the care record for each person seen.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive materials and information at all times.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of psychological counseling theory and techniques in treatments and activities for caseload.
  • Provide mental health assessments, counseling and crisis interventions for inmates.
