CoreCivic is seeking a Mental Health Specialist to assist in developing, implementing and documenting mental health treatment plans for inmates in an institutional setting. You will collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and security staff to ensure integrated care.

Ideal candidates have a degree in social/behavioral science and at least one year of direct mental health experience. A valid driver’s license is preferred and the role emphasizes confidentiality and crisis

Qualifications

• Graduates with a degree in social or behavioral science or closely related field.
• One year of experience providing mental health or counseling services.
• Experience substitutable education on a year-for-year basis.

Responsabilités

• Conduct mental health screenings and assessments via records review and clinical interviews.
• Develop, implement and modify individual treatment plans.
• Document treatment and evaluation activities in health care records.
• Consult with multidisciplinary staff about behavior and mental health issues.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive materials.
• Administer mental status exams or other psychological tests as needed.
• Address inmates in crisis with appropriate counseling interventions.
