Under close supervision, the incumbent will work primarily as a study therapist, providing skills training to individuals with schizophrenia within the Department of Psychiatry. This position will support studies that include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy-informed skills training in group and individual delivery formats. The incumbent will document skills training sessions, attend weekly supervision meetings with the Principal Investigators and report on participant progress. Additional duties include assisting with manuscript preparation, intervention manual revision, and other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSMust possess a Master's degree from an accredited school of psychology, social work or counseling; and knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
Demonstrated experience in providing mental health services to patients with psychosis.
Demonstrated training, education, or experience in assisting patients in developing skills to identify and challenge cognitions, manage emotions, set goals, and improve functioning.
Demonstrated experience in providing manual-guided psychotherapy, skills training, or coaching sessions to individuals with psychosis.
Knowledge and skill in cognitive behavioral, social skills, motivational interviewing and problem-focused psychotherapeutic approaches.
Demonstrated ability to treat and form constructive working relationships with patients with psychosis. Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written; effective presentation skills.
Strong demonstrated interpersonal skills.
Openness to feedback during psychotherapy supervision oversite.
Ability to maintain timely, organized documentation of psychotherapy or skills training sessions and client progress.
Demonstrated ability to participate in writing portions of scientific manuscripts applying knowledge and understanding of the science and research projects.
Demonstrated experience in working primarily and effectively as a research study therapist.
Experience with cognitive behavioral therapy or CBT-informed treatment for psychosis.
Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Must be flexible and be able to work weekends and evenings as needed.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $69,447 - $91,454 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $33.26 - $43.80
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
