Job summary

Burke is seeking a Mental Health Clinician to provide behavioral health services to children, adolescents, and families in the Lufkin, TX service area. The role includes case management, skills training, and adherence to Burke and Medicaid standards, with routine travel and documentation responsibilities.

You will join a collaborative treatment team, work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and participate in emergency assessments when warranted.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a QMHP-qualified field per Burke requirements.
  • Valid Texas driver's license and driving record meeting Burke's insurance.
  • Reliable personal vehicle for routine travel.
  • Ability to complete SAMA, CPR, First Aid and Defensive Driving training.

Compensation: $42,120 - $43,555 annually, depending on qualifications and experience | Travel reimbursement provided

About the Role

The Mental Health Clinician provides mental health skills and support services to children, adolescents, and their families throughout the service area. This position provides case management, skills training, and other services in accordance with each individual's approved and prescribed treatment plan.

Services are provided in accordance with Burke and Medicaid standards and requirements. The Mental Health Clinician may also conduct emergency assessments as warranted.

This position requires proficient and timely documentation, self-discipline, flexibility, and strong organizational skills. Routine travel throughout the service area is required.

What You'll Do

What You Need
Required
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Psychology, Social Work, Medicine, Nursing, Rehabilitation, Counseling, Sociology, Human Growth and Development, Physician Assistant Studies, Gerontology, Special Education, Educational Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Intervention, or another Human Services discipline that meets Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) requirements.
  • Valid Texas driver's license.
  • Driving record that meets Burke's insurance requirements.
  • Reliable personal vehicle for routine travel throughout the service area.
  • Ability to successfully complete Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggression (SAMA), CPR, First Aid, and Defensive Driving training.
Preferred
  • Six (6) months of direct care experience working with children or adolescents in a behavioral healthcare or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of child and adolescent growth and development.
  • Familiarity with behavioral health diagnostic criteria.
  • Licensed Baccalaureate Social Worker (LBSW).

Work Schedule
  • Monday - Friday
  • Generally, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Occasional after-hours work may be required to complete job responsibilities.
  • Routine travel throughout the service area is required.
  • Travel reimbursement is provided.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
