Job summary

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center seeks a professional psychologist with a Master’s degree to provide testing, evaluation, diagnostic services and counseling to assigned caseload. Works under supervision but holds full professional responsibility for actions and advice.

Responsibilities include mental health screening, caseload management, counseling sessions, documentation, and crisis intervention. Preference for experience in correctional environments.

• Mental health screening and assessment: Completes timely and clinically sound mental health screenings and assessments using approved tools.
• Manage patient caseload: Effectively manages an assigned caseload by providing consistent clinical contact, monitoring progress, and updating treatment plans as needed.
• Facilitate counseling sessions: Facilitates individual and group therapy counseling sessions.
• Documentation: Completes all clinical documentation accurately and objectively.
• Crisis Intervention: Responds promptly and effectively to mental health crises.

This position functions under the supervision of a higher level licensed psychologist, but the individual has full professional responsibility for higher actions and advice.

Major/Essential Functions

• Mental health screening and assessment: Completes timely and clinically sound mental health screenings and assessments using approved tools.
• Manage patient caseload: Effectively manages an assigned caseload by providing consistent clinical contact, monitoring progress, and updating treatment plans as needed.
• Facilitate counseling sessions: Facilitates individual and group therapy counseling sessions.
• Documentation: Completes all clinical documentation accurately and objectively.
• Crisis Intervention: Responds promptly and effectively to mental health crises.
• Other duties as assigned: Willingly performs all other assignments as directed by the superior.
