Tufts Medicine seeks a Nursing Support professional to provide patient care under the supervision of registered nurses. You will monitor, assist with daily living activities, and support psychiatric patients in a dynamic hospital unit.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 1 year of mental health experience, and a current BLS certification; a Bachelor's in Psychology is a plus. Expect a 36-hour week with days, evenings, weekends, and some nights in a busy care environment.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• One year of applicable experience in mental health or addiction services.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Psychology or Behavioral Sciences preferred.
• Three years of experience with psychiatric patients preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Monitor patient condition with vital signs and general observations.
• Assist with daily living activities and personal hygiene.
• Provide patient reports to the nurse and communicate observations.
• Assist nurse/physician during exams and procedures, and collect specimens.
• Support pre-admission and discharge processes and orient patients.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate changes to the care team.
• Transport patients, equipment, and specimens as needed.
• Keep the unit clean, safe, and properly maintained.
• Assist with meals and monitor nutritional intake.
• Provide assistance during Code 99 events and coordinate with team.
• Support unit safety and crisis intervention with the team.
• Participate in treatment plan implementation and milieu activities.
• Remain with patients as needed for safety during crises.
