Job summary

Universal Health Services is seeking a Mental Health Associate at Summit Oaks Hospital in Summit, NJ. The role involves working as part of the treatment team to provide continuous patient care across age groups, with opportunities to lead education groups and assist in crisis response.

The position requires a health-related bachelor's degree with psychiatric experience, and CPR/First Aid certifications, with weekends rotation and day shifts described.

Qualifications

• B.S. in health related field with one year of psychiatric experience, preferably in an inpatient setting; or two years of experience in a psychiatric setting with evidence of participation in continuing education related to mental health preferred.
• Psychiatric inpatient experience for Adults, Adolescents and Dual populations preferred.
• Must maintain CPR and First Aid, Verbal De-escalation and Handle with Care Certifications which will be provided by the Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, role modeling, and monitoring patients ranging in age from preschool through geriatrics.
• Take vital signs and respond to codes.
• Conduct educational groups for patients and families.
• Support treatment team as an active part of the care delivery process.
