Job summary

Universal Health Services, Inc. in Summit/Og Hospital area seeks a Mental Health Associate (MHA) to join the treatment team.

The role provides continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, role modeling and monitoring for patients across age ranges from preschool to geriatrics. The MHA supports units including adult psych, dual diagnosis, child/adolescent, detox and rehab, taking vital signs, leading groups and responding to codes as needed.

Qualifications

• B.S. in health related field with one year of psychiatric experience, preferably inpatient; or two years in psychiatric setting with continuing education related to mental health.
• Psychiatric inpatient experience for Adults, Adolescents and Dual populations preferred.
• Must maintain CPR and First Aid, Verbal De-escalation and Handle with Care Certifications which will be provided by the Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Active part of the treatment team providing continuous patient care and monitoring.
• Takes vital signs, conducts educational groups and responds to codes.
• Care for patients ranging from preschool through geriatrics on assigned units.
