Job summary

Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital is seeking a Mental Health Worker to support inpatient and outpatient teams in Chicago. Under supervision, you will assist licensed nursing staff with patient care, daily living activities, and documentation while helping maintain a safe unit environment.

In inpatient roles, you’ll work with adults and geriatrics within a multidisciplinary team and ensure timely communication with RNs.

Qualifications

• Must have current and valid license as a CNA issued by the State.
• If not a CNA, must have at least one year experience as Mental Health Worker in a hospital.
• BLS within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• One year prior mental health experience preferred.
• Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, assist licensed nursing staff in patient care and documentation, including activities of daily living.
• Support unit functions, maintain a safe, clean environment and communicate patient information to supervising RN.
• Perform clerical duties as assigned and provide basic nursing care for adult and geriatric patients.
• For outpatient, carry out activities of daily living program and individual treatment plans for psychiatric patients.
