Job summary

Harford Community College seeks a Second Assistant Coach for Men's Basketball to support the Head Coach in organizing practices, guiding student-athletes, and coordinating competitions. The role emphasizes academic success and adherence to NJCAA guidelines within the college’s athletic program.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of basketball coaching/playing experience, a valid driver’s license, CPR/First Aid/AED certification, and a proven track record in recruiting and fundraising

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
• CPR, First Aid and AED certifications required.
• Demonstrated excellence in coaching and instruction; be a positive leader.
• Prior experience with recruiting efforts and student-athlete retention.
• Experience in development, fundraising and corporate sponsorships is a plus.
• Preference given to familiarity with NJCAA and Maryland JUCO guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Coach with organizing and conducting practices and competitions.
• Support academic success monitoring for student-athletes.
• Collaborate with athletic department and College staff on program operations, scheduling, and equipment.
• Attend practices and games as determined by the Head Coach; follow NJCAA policies and College procedures.
