Bergen Community College is seeking an Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach to support the athletics program in Paramus, NJ. You will recruit student-athletes, assist in training and development, manage conditioning plans, and help promote the program within the college and community.
The role requires CPR/First Aid certification, a valid NJ driver’s license, and the ability to work with diverse stakeholders across the athletics department and campus.
To assist in managing the daily operations pertaining to the NJCAA Division III/Region XIX/GSAC Men’s Team. The Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach will report to, and work with, the Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach and Director of Athletics to further the institutional goals of the College. The individual must demonstrate the ability to lead a program with longstanding tradition of excellence in both athletics and academics with integrity and energy.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Education: A high school degree is required, Associates preferred.
Experience: The candidate must demonstrate the ability to coach successfully, with a minimum of one year playing experience, at the high school and/or collegiate level.
Other: Candidates must be certified in CPR and First Aid. Must have valid New Jersey Driver’s license.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Effective oral and written skills, thorough knowledge of NJCAA rules and regulations, and the ability to work with students, faculty, staff, alumni, boosters, college administration and media outlets is required, and the ability to utilize technology to further the operations of the Athletics Office.
