Job summary

Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey, seeks an Assistant Men's Basketball Coach to assist the head coach with organization, development, and planning of the basketball program, including practice planning, floor responsibilities, and recruiting within NCAA and BIG EAST rules.

You will monitor student-athletes' academic and athletic performance, ensure safety, behavior, and appearance, and coordinate travel and competition policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 3–5 years of collegiate basketball coaching and recruiting experience.
• Division I playing experience desired.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Design, conduct and monitor countable athletically-related activities per NCAA playing and practice regulations and department policy.
• Evaluate student-athletes to identify strengths and deficiencies, and design instructional opportunities based on motor learning principles.
• Collaborate with the Head Coach to incorporate position-specific learning into daily practice; communicate progress to staff.
• Assist in planning, conducting and supervising all practice and conditioning sessions.
• Provide leadership during instructional sessions and adapt teaching strategies to program needs.
• Collaborate with the Head Coach and athletic staff to design season and off-season conditioning programs.
