Job summary

Jackson College is seeking an Assistant Basketball Coach to support the head coach in recruiting, instructing, and monitoring student-athletes for Men’s Basketball. You will help coordinate practices, travel, and scheduling while upholding NJCAA and MCCAA guidelines.

The role requires a strong background in coaching, a relevant degree, and a commitment to developing student-athletes academically and athletically; CPR/First Aid certification or plan to obtain is required within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; Bachelor's preferred.
• Three or more years coaching experience at college/high school/club.
• CPR/First Aid certification required or within 30 days.
• College coaching or playing experience preferred.
• Proficiency with word processing, scheduling, email and spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruitment of prospective student-athletes.
• Recruit top local athletes (athletic and academic performance considered).
• Submit list of recruits for grant approval.
• Assist in developing preliminary scheduling and season plan.
• Assist head coach in supervising volunteer coaches and student-athletes.
• Foster sportsmanship and fair play.
• Coordinate practices and team travel.
• Follow NJCAA and MCCAA rules and policies.
• Conform to College and Athletic Department policies.
• Support student-athlete community service and academics.
