Columbus Technologies & Services is seeking a detail-oriented Semiconductor/MEMS Fabrication Technician to support microfabrication operations in a cleanroom environment in Greenbelt, MD. The role involves operating a range of semiconductor processing and metrology equipment, executing defined process steps, and assisting engineers with testing and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience operating equipment in a semiconductor or MEMS fabrication cleanroom.
• Hands-on lithography, deposition, and etching with related tooling and materials.
• Ability to document processing results in logs and tracking systems per industry standards.
• Strong teamwork, safety awareness, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute defined microfabrication process steps for MEMS devices accurately and safely.
• Monitor tool performance, troubleshoot basic issues, escalate complex problems.
• Perform routine equipment calibrations and tool qualifications.
• Document all processing results and measurements in logs and spreadsheets.
• Collaborate with process engineers, maintenance, and design teams for integration.
• Participate in continuous improvement and safety initiatives.
• This is a full-time onsite role, Monday through Friday in the cleanroom.

Education

Associate's degree in electronics

High School diploma/GED with equivalent hands-on industry experience

Bachelor's degree is a plus
