Job summary

Avamere Communities is seeking a Medication Tech for the Seaside location to administer medications and provide direct resident care on a NOC shift. The role requires attention to safety, accuracy, and adherence to care plans, with duties spanning medication cart maintenance, documentation, and coordination with nursing staff.

Ideal candidates bring memory care or assisted living experience, CPR/First Aid readiness, and EMR familiarity, plus a genuine desire to enhance seniors’ quality of life.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Caregiver and Medication Tech in a Memory Care Unit and/or Assisted Living Facility.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid Certification during employment.
• Must have the ability to obtain a Food Handler’s Card.
• Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Pass medications according to physician orders, under supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Record medications administered in the resident’s record.
• Notify pharmacy or family when meds need refilling.
• Maintain a clean and organized medication cart and room.
• Monitor and report side effects to Health Services Director.
• Follow care plans related to medication administration.
