Job summary

Maryville, a faith‑based care facility in Beaverton, Oregon, seeks a Medication Technician for its Memory Care unit. You will manage med schedules, document doses, and monitor resident responses under Oregon regulations.

Qualifications

• Completion of Pre-Service Dementia Care, Infection Prevention, Home and Community Based Services & Inclusivity Training.
• Proven track record of reliable attendance and attention to detail.
• Hands-on experience assisting with activities of daily living (preferably in an institutional setting).
• Ability to establish respectful rapport with Residents and their visitors. Demonstrated compassion, patience, and empathy for residents.
• Must have flexibility to work some Saturdays and Sundays.
• Read, write, and communicate fluently in English. Moderate to high level knowledge and usage of math.

Responsibilities

• Accurately administer oral, topical, and inhaled medications as prescribed by physicians and permitted by Oregon regulations.
• Document medication administration, refusals, and side effects according to facility policy and regulatory guidelines.
• Observe and report any changes in residents’ physical or emotional condition to licensed nurse on staff.
• Maintain medication carts, records, and related supplies in a clean and secure manner.
• Assist with resident care duties such as activities of daily living (ADLs) when needed or assigned.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, infection control, and safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and other members of the care team.
• Participate in staff training and continuing education as required.
• Observe for and report changes in a resident’s condition and adverse reactions to medication to a licensed nurse or supervisor.
• Conduct regular counts of controlled substances and coordinate communications for refills.
• Ensure all medication storage areas are locked and secured when not in use.
• Maintain accurate resident medication and care records.
• Pass morning, afternoon, and evening nourishment/medications, staying with each resident until consumed, then chart appropriately.
• Provide leadership to other shift personnel as appropriate.
• Maintain appropriate noise levels at all times.
• Assist in dining room area as needed.
• Report repairs to Administrator.
• Order cycle fill medications.
• Gather and record I & Os.
