Pass medications under RN supervision, maintain organized medication areas, document in EMR, monitor for side effects, and assist with appointments while prioritizing resident safety and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Caregiver and Medication Tech in a Memory Care Unit or Assisted Living Facility.
• Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid Certification during employment.
• Ability to obtain a Food Handler's Card.
• Experience in electronic medical records documentation.

Responsibilities

• Pass medications according to physician orders under supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Administer medications accurately and timely.
• Record medications administered in the resident's record.
• Notify the pharmacy or family when refills are needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized medication cart and room.
• Monitor and report side effects to the Director of Health Services.
• Document changes in residents’ status and medication orders in the EMR.
• Follow care plans related to medication administration and assessments.
• Assist with medical appointments and advocate for residents’ needs.
• Report changes in resident conditions promptly to medical staff.
• Perform delegated nursing services as assigned by the RN.
• Participate in in-service education programs.
